The China Information Technology Industry Development Center (CCID) has published its third ranking of cryptocurrencies. Just like a month ago, EOS took first place in it, while BTC was only in 16th place. Second place in the ranking is still occupied by Ethereum, but in third place this time are GXChain and NEO, completing the top five. BTC, which ranked 17th last month, moved up one line this time. Previously, CCID researchers stated that the goal is to assess the technological capabilities, utility and level of innovative development of blockchain projects. However, the assessment methodology still remains unknown.
At the same time, it can be noted that the rankings seem to favor the Delegated Proof of Status (DPoS) blockchain algorithm, which may offer faster and cheaper transactions, but is often criticized for being highly centralized. If you go back to top-ranked EOS, the cryptocurrency currently ranks fifth by market capitalization on CoinMarketCap's list of digital assets.
